So in summary:- For 21/22 - No affiliation fee, and ½ price team entry fee. Any new club entering the Chelmsford league will be charged the regular affiliation fee.  Team entry costs for season 21/22 will also be reduced from £10 to £5 for this coming season only.
Therefore it was agreed that affiliation fees already paid for 19/20 will be carried forward to incorporate season 21/22.
With this in mind, for 21/22 season we felt it unfair to charge clubs on the same basis as before, plus we also understand that Covid has put constraints on many clubs finances. So with regret we will have to call season 19/20 null and void. Many clubs are unsure of membership/ team make up etc, and it would be impractical to continue. Whilst our intention was to try and conclude the remaining matches from 2019/20 season, I am sure you will agree with me, that too much time has passed. The federation had a meeting on the 26 th May to discuss the best approach to restart competitive badminton. The good news is that many clubs are now back in play and enjoying regular club nights under BE guidance. But sadly things will be different going forward and we will all have to adapt. Certainly the signs are encouraging, with the vaccine rollout and the hopeful relaxation of rules coming into place later this month. None of us know if the Covid situation will rear its ugly head again. Every club has looked and embraced the Badminton England advice, with many playing during last summer under the rule of 6, and then of course stopping play again as we went into the second and third lockdowns. The last 16 months have been challenging in many ways, and has delayed the badminton much longer than I expected.įirstly I would like to thank all clubs for their sensible approach in getting through the pandemic. Hi, Apologies for not being in contact sooner.
